How it works
- 1) Plug in & setup. Power the device from USB and follow the quick start guide to connect it to Wi-Fi and create a PowerNotify portal account.
- 2) Claim the device. Enter the code printed on the device in the PowerNotify portal to claim your device.
- 3) Heartbeat begins. The PowerNotify cloud monitors the heartbeat of your device.
- 4) Power fails. The heartbeat stops. After your configured alert period elapses, your recipients get instantly notified.
- 5) Restore & confirm. When power returns, the heartbeat resumes and your recipients are instantly notified.

How does PowerNotify tell the difference between a power cut and an internet outage?
When an outage happens, PowerNotify can’t immediately tell whether it was caused by a power cut or a loss of internet — in both cases the device goes offline.
However, when the device comes back online, PowerNotify analyses how it reconnects. This allows us to determine whether the outage was caused by a loss of mains power or an internet-only issue, and your restore notification will clearly state which one it was.
This helps reduce confusion and makes it easier to understand what actually happened during an alert.
Can I set it to alert me after X minutes?
Yes. The alert window is configurable per device in the cloud portal.
Can I have notifications going to different email addresses or phone numbers?
Yes. You can configure any number of email addresses or phone numbers to be alerted for each device.
Can I control multiple devices?
Yes, you can have multiple devices in your account, each with independent settings for alerts.
